QUETTA: A new wet spell has hit the province of Balochistan from the west during which roads and kutcha houses were damaged in different parts of the province.
Moreover, three youth lost their lives when lightning struck them during heavy rain Pishin and Duran areas.
Rain with intervals continued in the provincial capital making the weather pleasant. In other areas of the province, heavy rain was reported with the Met Office predicting more precipitation during the coming two days
The Balochistan government said that after the forecast for heavy rains and flooding, the distribution administrations had been put on high alert to meet any emergency. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority was also on alert and staffers were busy in opening roads blocked by floodwater.
Meanwhile, rain also lashed different parts of Khyber Pakthunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. In many areas of Khyber Pakthunkhwa tourists were said to be stranded after roads were blocked due to flooding and landsliding.
