ISLAMABAD: Iranian President Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi is expected to arrive in Islamabad on a three-day official visit on Monday (today).
Foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch in a statement said all arrangements had been made to receive the Iranian president. She said this would be the first visit by any head of state to Pakistan after the new government was installed in the country following the February 8 general elections.
During his visit, the Iranian president will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other authorities.
The two sides will discuss regional and global issues, including the Middle East tension, besides trade and mutual cooperation in different fields.
A wide-ranging agenda has been set for discussion to further strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations and cooperation and investment in connectivity, energy, agriculture and people-to-people contacts, she added.
