KARACHI: Despite deaths in the sea and imprisonment abroad, Pakistanis seem not ready to stop leaving their country illegally for greener pastures in other parts of the world.
According to officials, another 20 Pakistanis were deported from seven countries, including Romania, France, Cambodia and Brazil.
According to immigration sources, four Pakistanis in Brazil refused to board a flight back home and requested political asylum from immigration. However, they were expelled. On arrival in Karachi, they have been detained and transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle.
Immigration sources said that in the last 24 hours, a Pakistani was deported for being on the blacklist while four others were expelled for fake passports from Saudi Arabia.
One Pakistani in France requested to be sent back automatically on emergency documents, while three Pakistanis were sent back on emergency passports after losing their travel documents in Cambodia, Oman and Germany.
Moreover, two Pakistanis were deported from Oman, four from Emirates and one from Dubai.
On the other hand, 28 passengers from Pakistan intending to go to seven countries including Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia from Karachi were offloaded by Immigration for various reasons in the last 24 hours.
Besides, 17 Umrah pilgrims on their way from Karachi to Saudi Arabia were offloaded from flights for not having enough money for advance hotel bookings and expenses, and one of the passengers’ name was also found in the black list.
In addition, six passengers with visit visas to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Bahrain were also offloaded.
Three passengers travelling from Karachi to Saudi Arabia on work visas and one on a German work visa were also offloaded for not having the relevant documents.
