LAHORE: Flight operations at Allama Iqbal International Airport were severely disrupted on Wednesday as at least 15 domestic and international flights were delayed for several hours, causing inconvenience to passengers.
According to airport sources, delays in incoming flights triggered a ripple effect, impacting outgoing schedules as well. Several flights departed hours later than planned, forcing passengers to wait for extended periods at the airport.
Flights bound for destinations including Madinah, Jeddah, Istanbul, Colombo, Dubai, and Sharjah were reportedly delayed between two to seven hours.
Passengers expressed frustration over prolonged waiting times and disrupted travel plans, while airport officials cited multiple reasons for the delays.
Sources added that technical faults in some aircraft also contributed to the disruption, affecting both arrivals and departures and compounding operational challenges at the airport.
