G20 countries’ meeting will be held tomorrow, Pakistan’s debt is likely to be scheduled

The main meeting of the G20 countries will be held tomorrow in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Debts of 43 countries, including Pakistan, are likely to be rescheduled. Pakistan could get 50 million US dollar in immediate relief.

According to Finance Ministry sources, Pakistan is likely to get debt relief from January to June. The IMF has also given a new facility in debt rescheduling, now the IMF debt rescheduling countries will not be considered bankrupt.

The purpose of debt rescheduling is to provide relief to poor countries so that they can use their resources against the Corona epidemic. Pakistan has to pay 50 million US dollar to the G20 countries from January to June 2021.
