In a protest Pak call Indian diplomat for ceasefire violation

On cease-fire repeated violations along Line of Control (LoC) a senior Indian diplomat in Pakistan was summoned to the Foreign Office.

A statement issued by the office of Foreign Office Director General South Asia and SAARC and Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhry said that Pakistan had lodged a strong protest with a senior Indian diplomat over the violation of ceasefire on the LoC.

Indian forces opened unprovoked fire on the Tatta Pani sector on December 9, leaving one civilian seriously injured. Indian forces continue to target civilians on the Line of Control, Working Boundary, and India has fired 2940 times this year. This year, 27 people have been martyred and 247 injured in Indian firing.

FO spokesman says that India’s deliberate targeting of innocent civilians is reprehensible, Indian forces’ targeting of unarmed civilians is against international law, human values, India has drawn the world’s attention to the situation in occupied Kashmir.

The statement said that India’s successive provocations are a threat to peace and security in the region, India must ensure compliance with UN Security Council resolutions, however, India must abide by the 2003 ceasefire arrangement. India must have to allow UN military observer mission to carry out their responsibilities with respect to the LOC.
