Khadija Shah detained again after bail by ATC

ATC had granted bail to the PTI activist in the May 9 arson attack cases in Lahore.

LAHORE: The district magistrate of Lahore has issued an order to detain fashion designer and PTI activist Khadija Shah for 30 days.

Shah was granted bail by an anti-terrorism court in Lahore a few days ago in the fourth and last case registered against her.

The magistrate issued the order stating that Shah was planning to create law and order situation again.

Khadija Shah, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist and former finance minister Dr Salman Shah’s daughter, was in jail since May 2023.

She was arrested for her involvement in the attack on the house of the Lahore corps commander house soon after the arrest by NAB of former prime minister and PTI chief Imran Khan on May 9.

Khadija Shah, a US national, had managed to send out a letter from the jail in Lahore narrating the anguish and ordeal of her and 17 other women.

The five-page handwritten letter was leaked out of Kot Lakpath jail to her husband and shared on PTI’s social media platforms.

In the letter, Khadija stated that there are at least six mothers who were dragged out of their homes in front of their small kids and have been anguish in the jail.

She said there were no other near family members to look after most of the women’s families. She said her own five years old daughter was in great distress without her.

The women had never thought that they would end up in such a situation by taking part in the protests following the arrest of PTI chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan on May 9.

These women have been arrested on the charge of arson attacks on military installations, including the house of the corps commander Lahore.

Khadija Shah in her letter says that the women, including herself, had already suffered unimaginable punishment with no hope about an end to their miseries.

In the letter, Shah called upon everyone, “whether you are a PTI supporter or not, humanity dictates that this trial must ve brought to sn end.”
