ISLAMABAD: As the PTI announced to hold another protest at D-Chowk of Islamabad on October 15, federal ministers warned that miscreants trying to disrupt the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s summit would be handled with an iron hand.
The SCO summit is scheduled to be held in Islamabad from October 15 to 16 and the government has already announced a three-day public holiday and called in the army to ensure security for the international event.
On the other hand, the PTI party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that it would hold another protest at D Chowk of Islamabad on 15th October.
Though the government has been repeatedly saying that the PTI wants to disturb the pace of development in the country it is now becoming clear to the public that it is really doing so because there was no justification for holding a protest by the PTI on the opening day of the SCO summit in Islamabad.
Earlier, on two occasions the PTI held rallies to Islamabad but its leaders ran away to avoid arrest leaving their workers and supporters behind, most of them are now languishing in jail.
After the surprise announcement by the PTI to hold another protest on the opening day of the SCO summit, government ministers said that all security arrangements were in place with the army deployed in Islamabad, any miscreants trying to disrupt the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s summit would be handled with an iron hand.
They said that the government abd law enforcement agencies would ensure the holding of the summit in a peaceful manner. They said that it was an honor for Pakistan to host the summit in which heads of government and state from 12 countries will participate.
They said that the nation had now realized that the PTI had an anti-state abd anti-people agenda and it had nothing to do with the interest of the country.
