ISLAMABAD: The capital administration has banned the O Level textbook “The History and Culture of Pakistan” and ordered its immediate removal from all private schools and libraries in the federal capital.

According to the ICT education regulatory authority, inspection teams have been formed to ensure compliance, and schools have been instructed to remove the book from classrooms and syllabi. Officials said private institutions are not allowed to include any textbook in their curriculum without official approval.

The decision applies to all private schools offering O Level programs, and authorities have warned that legal action will be taken against institutions that fail to comply with the directive. The book has also been flagged for containing content considered objectionable under regulatory standards.

Bookstores have been asked to stop selling the title, while schools have been directed to ensure it is no longer accessible to students.

The regulatory body emphasized that strict monitoring will continue to enforce the ban across educational institutions.
