Pakistan, French Development Agency Sign €12 Million Grant Agreement
ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan and the French Development Agency (AFD) have signed an agreement under which France will provide a grant worth €12 million (approximately 1.2 crore euros) to Pakistan.
According to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the agreement was signed by the Secretary of Economic Affairs, the French Ambassador to Pakistan, and the Director of AFD.
The grant is funded by the European Union and will be disbursed through the French Development Agency. The project aims to improve the quality of services provided by WASA (Water and Sanitation Agency) in Lahore and Faisalabad.
In addition, the initiative will help the Housing Department implement an effective regulatory framework, strengthening governance and service delivery in the urban water and sanitation sector.
