ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected India’s attempts to link the Pahalgam incident to Pakistan, calling the allegations baseless propaganda.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said India continues to resort to unfounded accusations and misinformation campaigns, particularly at a time when Pakistan is engaged with international partners to promote regional and global peace.
The spokesperson urged India to act responsibly, criticizing what was described as a pattern of using such incidents for narrow domestic political purposes.
The statement added that such narratives cannot divert global attention from the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir and the issue of self-determination for Kashmiris.
Pakistan also accused India of contributing to regional instability through provocative rhetoric and actions, including what it termed an unlawful suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
The Foreign Office expressed hope that the international community would urge India to avoid actions and statements that could undermine ongoing efforts for regional peace and stability.
