ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States have finalized a bilateral trade agreement aimed at expanding market access, attracting investment, and promoting cooperation in key areas of mutual interest.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the agreement was concluded during a meeting between Pakistan’s Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, along with U.S. Trade Representative Jamison Greer. Also present were Pakistan’s Secretary of Commerce Jawad Paul and Ambassador to the U.S. Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.

The deal marks the beginning of a new phase of economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the fields of energy, minerals, information technology, and cryptocurrency.

The Ministry further noted that the agreement will support Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations with the U.S. and extend those ties to individual American states. Improved access to each other’s markets and enhanced U.S. investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure and development projects are anticipated outcomes.

The joint statement emphasized that the agreement reflects a strong commitment from both nations’ leadership to deepen bilateral ties and strengthen trade and investment relations.
