PM Imran take notice of spike in flour prices in Punjab

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has took notice on Monday of surge in flour prices in Punjab and ordered the provincial government to act against the hoarders on contingency basis.

The Punjab Government has been directed in a notification issued by PM office either to arrest profiteers or to provide subsidy, but must ensure the provision of flour on low prices to public. He also urged the provincial government to revise the earlier price of flour, as per the notification.

PM Khan also advised the Buzdar government to further strict crackdown against profiteers.

It is to rememberred that as per the acceptance of Flour Mills Association’s condotions Punjab Food Authority has increased 55 Rs per 20 Kg flour pack. As per the new price there will be 2.75 Rs spike per Kg flour, while in open market per Kg flour will be on 43 Rs instead of 40 Rs. The new price will applied for next two months temporarily.
