Police station burnt after stabbing incidents, violence

Police in UK say those trying to take law into their hands would be dealt with iron hand.

LONDON: Rightwing ptotesters in a city in the United Kingdom have scaled up violence after death of some children in stabbing incidents, local people and police say.

The violence erupted in South Port city after some knife-wielding people went on a stabbing spree. Rioters attacked a police station, set it on fire and pelted officers with stones, according to local media reports.

The rioters also burnt down a number of vehicles and stabbed and injured a UK national of Pakistani origin in South Port.

A woman witness said that the first incident of stabbing occurred outside a local railway station. She said that police and rescue ambulance reached the spot 25 minutes after the white man escaped after the incident.

Moreover, two groups of people have clashed outside a mosque in Liverpool creating a tense situation. Some of the people on the occasion were chanting slogans against migrants.

The police said that they were monitoring the situation and gathering data about those involved in violence and launch a hunt to trace and bring them to book.
