ISLAMABAD: Pakistan gives top priority to protection of minorities’ rights and to ensure this stringent laws have been made by parliament.

This was stated by Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar at a meeting with European Union Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Riina Kionka.

He said provinces have also been urged to play role in protecting the rights of minorities.

International organizations have raised concerns over rights violations in Pakistan especially over repeated killing of people belonging to the minority religious group and their places of worship.

The rights violations are committed by extremist groups who take the law into their hand and attack minority group members and their properties.
