ISLAMABAD: Security and logistical arrangements in Islamabad have been intensified following confirmation of the second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States.
Even before the arrival of the delegations, strict security measures had already been enforced across the capital, particularly in the Red Zone. By Saturday evening, authorities placed the city on high alert, with entry into the Red Zone completely sealed off and police personnel directed to report to their duty points immediately.
According to official sources, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to arrive in Islamabad with his delegation late Saturday night or in the early hours of Sunday.
A team of US negotiators is already present in the capital; however, the schedule for the arrival of senior American officials has not yet been officially announced.
Authorities have also heightened surveillance across key routes, hotels, and diplomatic enclaves, with additional contingents of law enforcement and paramilitary forces deployed to ensure the safety of visiting delegations and prevent any untoward incident during the high-stakes talks.
