Another condition of FATF has been fulfilled, the jurisdiction of FIA has been extended to the provinces to curb money laundering. Now FIA will be able to take direct action in the provinces as well. And an agreement has been reached with the Punjab Police.
In this regard, a special money laundering desk has also been set up at the FIA headquarters. Government departments and regulatory bodies are registered in the money laundering desk as members who will be bound to cooperate with the FIA during the proceedings.
It should be noted that Pakistan is currently on the FATF gray list from which several steps are being taken.
