WASHINGTON: Former US President Donald Trump has said that negotiations with Iran are nearing completion and a formal agreement could be reached within days.

In a recent statement, Trump said the United States prefers a written agreement over military confrontation to resolve the ongoing crisis with Iran.

He expressed optimism about progress in talks, adding that discussions are underway regarding Iran’s enriched uranium, which the US aims to secure in the near future.

Trump further stated that once an agreement is finalized, the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, easing tensions and stabilizing regional conditions.

He reiterated that both sides are working toward a diplomatic solution and emphasized that a peaceful resolution through a formal deal remains the preferred outcome.
