WASHINGTON: Newly-elected President Donald Trump wants to send all illegal immigrants in the United States to be have sent to Guantanamo Bay.
According to a foreign news agency, US President Donald Trump has ordered Homeland Security and the Pentagon to make a special place in Guantanamo Bay. President Trump has also signed the Laken Riley Act, which makes it easier to arrest, detain and deport illegal immigrants.
It is the first law passed under President Trump’s second term. The bill was approved by both Democrats and Republicans. President Trump expressed his gratitude to the Democrats and said that this law will save the lives of hundreds of Americans.
Under the law, federal immigration officials will now be able to forcibly evict people living in the United States without legal status who are involved in petty theft, shoplifting, assaulting any official, or causing death or serious injury to a citizen.
The White House press secretary has already said that those who entered the United States illegally committed a crime themselves. Guantanamo Bay is a U.S. naval base and prison located in southeastern Cuba. President Trump says there are 30,000 beds in Guantanamo Bay.
