ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have formally enforced a mutual visa waiver for diplomatic and official passport holders, marking a positive new move in bilateral cooperation.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced on Sunday that the settlement is effective from July 25, 2025, in any UAE airports.
Visa-Free Travel Now Active
Dar showed that the UAE government had activated the visa exemption, allowing Pakistani diplomats and officers to enter the UAE without visa.
The identical privilege applies to Emirati officials journeying Pakistan, with reciprocal preparations now live at all Pakistani airports.
In my meeting at Abu Dhabi on 24th June 2025 with my brother Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of UAE, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, we agreed mutual visa waivers on diplomatic and official passports between our two brotherly countries.

The waiver stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in advance between Foreign Minister Dar and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“This displays the robust brotherly ties among our international locations,” Dar wrote in a post on X.
Efforts for Visa Facilitation Continue
The statement follows high-stage meetings between UAE and Pakistani officials in current weeks.
Earlier this month, UAE Interior Minister Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Pakistan for expedited visa strategies for its residents.
During a visit of the UAE, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasised the need to ease visa restrictions, calling it a “remedy” for Pakistani nationals working or touring to the Gulf united states.
The UAE stays on top on all Pakistanis buying and selling companions in the region and a huge vacation spot for Pakistani workers.
The visa waiver is anticipated to strengthen diplomatic engagement and streamline reputable exchanges among the two international states.
