QUETTA: Pakistani security forces have killed 17 terrorists during intelligence-based operations in various districts of Balochistan, including Mastung, Noshki, Zahri, Khuzdar, and Kech, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists, affiliated with the group Fitna al-Hindustan, were killed during heavy exchanges of fire. Weapons, explosive materials, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the deceased militants.
The ISPR spokesperson stated that the terrorists were involved in multiple criminal activities, while clearance and sanitization operations are ongoing in the affected areas.
The spokesperson emphasized that operations will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated, including terrorism sponsored from abroad.
Earlier Operation in Bannu
On May 23, police and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in the jurisdiction of Meryan Police Station, Bannu, killing eight terrorists.
During the operation, a 10-kilogram explosive device recovered from the terrorists was safely neutralized by a bomb disposal squad. The Central Police Office in Peshawar reported that specialized teams of police and CTD conducted the operation at dawn, using modern drone surveillance and other advanced technologies to monitor terrorist hideouts and movements.
