PML-N chief and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not address a meeting of the opposition alliance PDM in Peshawar on Sunday. Confirming this, PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said that Nawaz Sharif would not be able to address the PDM meeting in Peshawar due to his ill health.
Responding to a social media user’s tweet, Maryam Nawaz tweeted that Nawaz Sharif will not be able to address in Peshawar as he is still in severe pain. It should be noted that Nawaz Sharif could not attend the PDM summit on November 17 due to sudden deterioration of his health.
According to PML-N sources, Nawaz Sharif has a kidney stone and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
On the other hand, after Maryam Nawaz’s interview with the BBC, some quarters had started expressing fears that Nawaz Sharif would not take a firm stand against the military establishment. These fears were reinforced when news broke that Nawaz Sharif had suddenly fallen ill and was rushed to hospital.
With this news, informed sources started saying that Nawaz Sharif will no longer address the PDM’s Peshawar meeting and his illness may be justified at the Multan meeting as well.
First, it is expected that N League will continue to have backdoor contacts with the establishment and if no clear assurance is given, Nawaz Sharif will recover once again before the December 13 meeting in Lahore.
