KARACHI: A woman doctor who was recently targeted in an acid attack is currently under treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi, where doctors say her condition is now stable.
According to hospital sources, Dr. Mahnoor Naser is no longer in critical condition and there is no immediate threat to her life or any major organ. She has suffered burns over approximately 13 percent of her body, including 7 to 8 percent deep burn injuries.
Medical staff further stated that a mild clouding has been observed in both of her eyes’ corneas. However, her vision remains intact, and treatment is continuing with precautionary care. Specialists in plastic surgery and ophthalmology are actively involved in her treatment.
Police officials said the suspect identified in the attack, named Humayun Khan, was killed in a police encounter a day earlier. Authorities also recovered weapons from his possession during the operation.
The case has drawn widespread attention, with medical teams continuing close monitoring of the patient’s recovery progress.
