RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has ordered the blockade of PTI founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan’s, national identity card, passport, and bank accounts after she failed to appear before the court despite non-bailable arrest warrants being issued against her.
The case pertains to the November 26 protest, and the hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah. During the proceedings, the court noted Aleema Khan’s continued absence and expressed displeasure, remarking that “the accused is seen everywhere but does not appear before the court.”
Following her repeated non-compliance, the court directed NADRA and immigration authorities to block her CNIC and passport and instructed the freezing of her bank accounts.
The court also ordered the confiscation of property belonging to her guarantor, Umar Sharif, due to her failure to attend hearings.
Special Prosecutor Zaheer Shah appeared on behalf of the prosecution, while no counsel represented Aleema Khan. Ten other co-accused in the same case were present, along with prosecution witnesses and case property.
The hearing has been adjourned until October 27.
