ISLAMABAD: A case has been registered against Mahmood Khan Achakzai, leader of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and head of the Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Aain Pakistan, over allegations of making anti-state remarks during a public gathering in Balochistan.
According to police sources, the First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Gulistan Police Station following a rally held at a government high school ground.
The complaint alleges that Achakzai made statements against state institutions and encouraged provocative rhetoric during his speech.
The FIR further claims that the opposition leader criticized security forces and government policies and allegedly referred to the idea of forming an alternative armed structure, which authorities described as inflammatory.
Law enforcement officials stated that the case has been registered under charges related to incitement and spreading hatred against state institutions.
No immediate response from Mahmood Khan Achakzai or his party was available at the time of filing the report.
The development comes amid heightened political tensions in the province, where several opposition leaders have recently raised concerns over governance and civil-military relations.
