PESHAWAR: A group of discontented lawmakers from Pakistan’s ruling party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has written a formal letter to party Chairman Barrister Gohar, raising concerns over internal party affairs, governance issues, and political strategy.
According to details, the letter was drafted following a consultative meeting of several provincial assembly members held in Peshawar. The lawmakers urged the party leadership to launch an effective movement for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and to pursue a stronger legal strategy for party workers currently facing imprisonment.
The legislators expressed serious concern over what they described as interference by non-relevant individuals in government affairs, deviation from merit-based decision-making, and unfair distribution of resources.
They also complained about a lack of proper consultation with elected representatives regarding development funds and constituency-level decisions.
The letter further emphasized the need for a structured and coordinated approach to governance and party organization. It called for improved legal support for imprisoned leaders and workers, as well as better welfare arrangements for their families.
The lawmakers also rejected claims circulating in media and on social platforms suggesting divisions among them, stating that all members remain committed to the party’s ideology, manifesto, and the vision of Imran Khan.
Concerns were also raised over restrictions on meetings and communication involving Imran Khan, including access for family members, lawyers, and party leaders.
The group concluded by urging the party leadership to adopt a comprehensive and effective strategy to address political challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and to ensure better governance, unity, and organizational discipline.
