Flood in Southern Japan, take 16 lives and dozens other missing

TOKYO: In Kyushu, Southern Island of Japan due to an unprecedented rains which caused to flooding and landslides took at least 16 people lives and dozens are still missing, BBC reported.

As per the report, after a nearby river broke its banks a nursing home has been inundated where 14 victims were found.

For rescue purposes around 10,000 soldiers have been deployed in the area. The authorities have expelled 2,00,000 citizens from the flood hit Island, according to the media report.

Upon the expectations of rise in death tally Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe urged the compatriots to be on high alerts, according to the report.
