Govt Reviews Progress on National Autism Centre Project

ISLAMABAD: The government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening support for children with autism, reviewing progress on the establishment of a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence for Autism in the federal capital.

The review came during a meeting of the Centre of Excellence for Autism Advisory Board, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

The meeting discussed early diagnosis, intervention, and inclusive education, while reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving care and support for children with autism.

The Ministry of Federal Education gave a detailed briefing on the establishment of the modern Autism Centre in Islamabad. Experts also shared recommendations, and the board stressed the need to provide facilities in line with international standards.

Dar directed the relevant authorities to accelerate work on the project and further improve the quality of services. The meeting was attended by senior officials, including Tariq Bajwa and the federal secretaries for education and health.
