ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced early payment of salaries and pensions for May 2026, providing relief to public sector employees and pensioners ahead of Eid al-Adha.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance Pakistan, all federal government employees and pensioners will receive their payments on May 22.
Officials said the decision was taken to facilitate citizens in making timely preparations for Eidul Azha, which is expected to fall on May 27 or 28, 2026.
The ministry stated that payments will be processed in accordance with the Receipts and Payments Rules 2025. Instructions have also been issued to the Controller General of Accounts to ensure timely and smooth disbursement of salaries and pensions.
Relevant departments have been directed to implement the decision immediately to ensure that all payments are completed before the religious festival.
