Greek government extends nationwide lockdown

 

Greek government has announced an extension in nationwide lockdown until December 7 in view of the steady rise in corona virus cases. Government spokesman Stellius Pettas said the lockdown had been extended to December 7.

According to statistics, 97,288 cases and 1,902 deaths have been confirmed in Greece so far, while, the Ministry of Health says that the capacity of patients in hospitals has been reduced.

Greece’s health minister warned on Monday that Greece would expand its lockdown measures by the end of November in view of the spread of CoV-19 and pressure on hospitals.

Furthermore, the number of patients in the intensive care unit continues to rise sharply. The second nationwide lockdown, including school closures, was imposed by November 30.
