ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has begun its International Operational Safety Audit, conducted by International Air Transport Association (IATA), aimed at evaluating the airline’s safety standards and operational performance.
According to details, the audit is being carried out from June 8 to June 11 and will follow a risk-based assessment approach. During this period, IATA’s audit team will thoroughly review various departments of PIA.
The audit will specifically focus on the implementation and effectiveness of the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring that global aviation safety standards are being met.
Sources say the outcome of this audit will play a crucial role in determining PIA’s international safety ranking, which can significantly impact its global operations and reputation.
PIA management has reportedly completed all necessary preparations ahead of the audit, expressing confidence in meeting the required international benchmarks.
