Indian TV Network Hit by Cyberattack
NEW DELHI: Indian broadcaster Sun TV Network was reportedly hit by a cyberattack that temporarily disrupted its television broadcasts after hackers allegedly gained unauthorized access to the network’s internal broadcast management system.
According to reports, several Sun TV channels experienced brief interruptions, during which the broadcasts were altered. The attackers allegedly displayed the Pakistani flag and pro-Pakistan messages on screen.
The report also claimed that the hackers launched a ransomware attack, locking around 1,800 domain systems linked to the network.
Cybersecurity experts said the incident has raised fresh concerns about India’s digital security and the resilience of its cyber defenses. However, the claims regarding the identity of the attackers and the full extent of the breach have not been independently verified.
