ISLAMABAD: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni arrived in Islamabad on Monday along with a high-level delegation for an official visit to Pakistan, with officials expressing hope for progress on regional issues.
Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the Iranian delegation upon arrival at the airport. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry also greeted Eskandar Momeni and presented him with a bouquet.
Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam was also present at the airport during the reception.
Welcoming his Iranian counterpart, Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan was pleased to receive its “brother” and expressed hope that Momeni’s visit would bring positive developments.
Naqvi said the visit would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Iran and added that progress was expected regarding the regional situation as well.
