SRINAGAR: Widespread protests erupted  across the occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the assassination by Israel of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut.

The protesters in different districts of the occupied territory chanted slogans against the Zionist state of Israel and called for revenge against the killing of the Hezbollah leader and other people.

People took to the streets in different parts of Srinagar including Hassanabad, Rainawari, Saidakadal, Meer Behri, Hawal, Alamgari Bazar, Sheri Bhat, Zadibal, Shalimar, Lal-Bazar, Bagwanpora, Bemina Hazratbal, and Ashaibagh.

In other districts of Jammu and Kashmir, people also held protest demonstrations  while holding banners and back flags and chanting slogans against Israel and its supporters especially the United States of America.

The protesters said that Israel had been killing innocent palestinians, including children and women, for the last one year and now had pointed his sophisticated weapons towards Lebanon targeting top Hezbollah leaders along with other people. They regretted that instead of condemning the Israeli atrocities and massacres, the West, particularly the US, was openly backing the Zionist state of Israel.

The Kashmiri protesters called upon the United Nations to wake up from its deep slumber and ensure its responsibility of maintaining peace in the world, including Palestine and occupied Kashmir.
