PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Higher Education Mina Khan Afridi was offloaded at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar while attempting to travel to Germany.
According to reports, the provincial minister was scheduled to visit Tübingen University in Germany as part of an official academic engagement arranged by the Higher Education Department. However, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials stopped him from boarding the flight at the airport.
The incident sparked controversy as Mina Khan Afridi claimed that clear instructions from the Peshawar High Court permitted his foreign travel, yet he was still prevented from leaving the country.
The reason for the travel restriction has not been officially detailed by authorities. Airport sources confirmed that the minister was stopped during routine immigration clearance procedures.
The matter is expected to draw political attention, particularly over conflicting interpretations of court orders and travel clearance procedures. Further clarification from relevant authorities is awaited.
