MUZAFFARABAD: The Indian administration in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has shut down 48 out of 87 public parks and tourist spots, according to media reports.
Authorities suggest that more tourist destinations may be added to the list of closures in the coming days as security concerns escalate.
The sudden closure of these public spaces comes amid growing unrest and fear among Kashmiris across various Indian states. Reports indicate that students, employees, and traders from Kashmir are facing increasing harassment and intimidation, forcing many to flee and return to Srinagar.
In Indian states such as Maharashtra, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, around 2,000 Kashmiris are reportedly trapped in their homes and workplaces due to safety fears.
Several Kashmiri students stated that they have been unable to return home for the past five days and are desperately seeking safe passage back to Srinagar.
The situation has heightened concerns over the ongoing human rights violations and the treatment of Kashmiris both within the region and across India.
