ISLAMABAD: JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that if Iran is brought under control, then Israel could eventually reach Pakistan’s doorstep, warning of broader regional security implications.
Addressing a public gathering, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief said that the Muslim world should focus on unity rather than internal divisions. He said the current time demands solidarity among Muslim countries instead of conflict and hostility.
Maulana Rehman stated that discussions regarding Pakistan–Saudi Arabia defence cooperation should be strengthened further, emphasizing that his political stance is based on principles rather than confrontation.
He also remarked that institutions responsible for maintaining law and order should be respected, but warned that if boundaries of principles are crossed, resistance would also be offered.
The JUI-F leader added that political decisions should not be confined only to parliamentary forums, suggesting that ground-level public pressure would also play a role in future political developments.
He further said that protests related to inflation were postponed due to ongoing international diplomatic developments involving talks between the United States and Iran.
