LAHORE: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has launched direct flights between Lahore and Manchester, expanding its services to the United Kingdom.

The inaugural flight, PK-709, departed from Lahore carrying 325 passengers. A ceremony was held at Lahore Airport to mark the occasion, where PIA Chief Operating Officer Khurram Mushtaq bid farewell to passengers.

Travelers welcomed the restoration of the direct air link, describing it as a significant development for the Pakistani community in the UK and for strengthening people-to-people ties between the two countries.

PIA said the launch increases its weekly flights between Pakistan and Manchester to five, including four services from Islamabad and one from Lahore, providing greater convenience for passengers traveling between the two destinations.
