PM Reaffirms Commitment To Peace And Human Rights

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting human rights and fostering peaceful coexistence on the occasion of the International Day of Living Together in Peace.

In his message, the prime minister said Pakistan stands with the international community in its efforts to build a peaceful, harmonious, and united society. He emphasized that the principles of justice, integrity, and peace laid down by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah continue to guide national policy.

Highlighting Pakistan’s cultural diversity, the prime minister said the country’s social plurality is a source of national strength. He noted that the government is actively working to eliminate extremism and promote social harmony through initiatives such as the Paigham-e-Pakistan framework and other policy measures.

He also referred to various government efforts for the protection of human rights, including the National Action Plan on Human Rights, the Business and Human Rights Policy, and awareness campaigns aimed at strengthening institutional safeguards.

The prime minister further stressed reforms aimed at ending gender-based violence and protecting minority rights, describing them as key priorities of the government.

He called upon youth, religious scholars, and civil society to promote tolerance, compassion, and mutual respect in order to build a peaceful and prosperous society.
