PNC Decides to Inspect Over 400 Nursing Colleges Nationwide
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) has decided to inspect more than 400 nursing colleges across the country to strengthen oversight of nursing education.
During a council meeting, all inspection-related powers were delegated to the council’s president and vice president. Under the new policy, the head of an inspection team will not necessarily be from the nursing profession.
Instead, a master’s degree holder in medicine or allied health sciences may lead the inspection team.
According to sources, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) representative was not invited to the meeting. It was also reported that a member from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa attended despite a stay order.
The council’s legal member reportedly expressed concern over alleged procedural irregularities during the meeting and called for a formal inquiry into the matter.
