Punjab CM Arrives in Baku on Three-Day Official Visit

BAKU: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has arrived in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on a three-day official visit.

At Baku airport, she was welcomed by Deputy Minister of Defence Industry Mahman Buksi Sof.

The arrival ceremony was also attended by Pakistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Qasim Mohiuddin and his wife, as well as Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov and his wife. CM Maryam Nawaz is visiting Azerbaijan as a special government guest, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials.

On May 17, she is scheduled to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. She will represent Pakistan at the “World Urban Forum” in Baku, where she will present details of Punjab Government’s “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program and discuss its impact on citizens’ lives. During her visit, she is also expected to address the World Leaders Summit at Baku Olympic Stadium.

Accompanying her on the trip are Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azma Bukhari, Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen, Sports Minister Faisal Ayub, Agriculture Minister Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, and Special Assistant Ali Dar.
