SRINAGAR: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh acts of state terrorism martyred four more Kashmiri youth in Shopian and Pulwama districts, today, taking the number of the martyred youth in the territory to 7 since yesterday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops martyred two more youth during the continued cordon and search operation in Jan Mohalla area of Shopian. Indian troops martyred two other youth during a similar operation at Naibugh in Pulwama district, today. The violent military operations at both the places were going on till last reports came in. The killings of the youth triggered forceful anti-India protests in Shopian and Pulwama areas. The protesters raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. Indian police and paramilitary personnel fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, injuring several of them.

Hurriyat leaders and organizations including Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Khawaja Firdous, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Jahangir Ghani Butt, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement in their statements and addresses to meetings condemned the killing spree unleashed by Indian troops across IIOJK.

Meanwhile, the imams and khateebs of several mosques and imambargahs in their addresses to the Juma congregations expressed concern over the surge in Indian state terrorism in IIOJK. They called for early settlement of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations to bring an end to the bloodshed in the territory. They also demanded restoration of special status of IIOJK.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Provincial President for Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad Butt, in a statement in Srinagar denounced the Indian police diktat in which journalists have been barred to perform their professional duties during the so-called cordon and search operations in the territory. He maintained that the brazen onslaught on the freedom of expression is a grave violation of human rights which must be a cause of concern for the world community.

Posters appeared in different areas of the occupied territory, reaffirming the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom struggle till complete success. The posters were pasted by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Justice Party, Kashmir Resistance Movement, Kashmir Hurriyat Youth Forum, Jammu and Kashmir Justice League and Haq-e-Khud Iradiyat Forum Jammu and Kashmir. The posters also carried pictures of Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa and their statements in support of Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination.

On the other hand, the Kashmir Media Service in a report, today, maintained that the Indian actions on August 05, 2019 were actually aimed at eroding the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and defeating the very purpose of the UN resolutions to hold plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. The report said that the identity of the Kashmiris and their right to choose their fate were interrelated.

A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Social and Justice League visited the residences of illegally detained youth in Islamabad district and expressed solidarity with their families.
