WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump has warned of a long-term occupation of the Gaza Strip.
During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, Trump said, “The United States will occupy the Gaza Strip, we will own it.” The aim is to bring stability to the region and create thousands of jobs.
“I see a long-term ownership position in Gaza, we will develop Gaza. Jobs for people in the area. It will house the citizens.”
Trump said that under the plan for the Palestinians, the leaders of Jordan and Egypt would provide space. Other leaders in the Middle East liked the idea of moving the Palestinians out of Gaza.
President Trump said that after his plan, he sees people from all over the world settling in Gaza. I will be visiting Israel, Gaza and Saudi Arabia. Many countries will soon join the Abraham Accords.
Trump said that in the meeting with Netanyahu, they discussed how to ensure the elimination of Hamas. The process of rebuilding and occupying Gaza should not be carried out by the same people.
The US president also said he would like to make a deal with Iran. If Iran had nuclear weapons, it would be a disaster.
On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that US President Donald Trump’s plan, under which the United States will take control of the Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip, can change history.
The Israeli Prime Minister said that Trump sees a different future for Gaza, it is noticeable and history can be changed.
“Trump and I want to make sure that Iran never develops a nuclear weapon,” “Netanyahu said.”
