ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at Aiwan-e-Sadr and discussed matters of national security as well as the internal and regional situation.
The meeting covered issues of national importance, including the economy, the upcoming federal budget, recent elections in Gilgit-Baltistan, the situation in Azad Kashmir, and the overall law and order situation.
While discussing budget proposals and public relief measures, the President emphasized the need to prioritize public welfare, provincial rights, and economic stability in the federal budget. He also directed that efforts be made to ensure balanced economic growth and effective public welfare schemes in the upcoming fiscal plan.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the President on his recent visit to Iran and broader regional diplomatic engagements.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah.
Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Faisal Rathore, and MNA Raja Pervez Ashraf were also present.
