RAWALPINDI: The cricket team of Bangladesh won the first Test match against Pakistan at the Pindi cricket ground on the final and fifth day of the match.
On the last day of the match, Pakistan was all out after scoring 146 runs and giving Bangladesh a target of 30 runs to win. The visiting team chased the 31-run target without losing a wicket and thus Pakistan faced a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets.
On the 4th day of the test match yesterday Pakistan was all out for 565 runs. The Bangladesh team had gotten a 117 runs lead in the first innings. In reply yesterday, Pakistan had scored 23 runs for the loss of one wicket.
Today when Pakistan started its bating, Shan Masood was sent back to the pavilion after he scored only five runs. After this, the Pakistani players could not stand on the crease and were out for just 146 runs.
The visiting team had started the third day with its second day’s total 27 runs and Zakir Hassan was sent to pavilion after scoring 12 and Najmul 16 runs. Later, Shadman scored 93 and Monin 50 runs and had a good partnership and left the team in a good position. Moreover, Shakibul Hasan scored 15 runs.
After the fall of the fifth wicket, Mushafiq and Lattandas batted with care and took the scores over 300. When the match ended, Mushafiq had scored 55 and Lattandas 52 runs.
On the second day of the match, the visiting team scored 27 runs against Pakistan’s 448. In the morning, the host team started the match at 158 runs with the loss of four wickets. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel batted very carefully and scored their careers’ third centuries. After their dismissal, Saim Ayub scored 56 runs, Abdullah Shafiq two, captain Shaan Masood six, Baber Azam zero, Salman Ali 19 runs while Shaheen Afridi scored 29 runs.
After batting for 141 overs, Pakistan declared its innings at 448 runs for the loss of four wickets. Bangladesh bowlers Shariful and Hassan Mahmood got two wickets each.
On the first day, Bangladesh captain had won the toss and decided to bowl first. After losing three wickets, Pakistan made a comeback with Saim Ayub and Saud scoring 98-run partnership. Saim reached to his first Test fifty in his third innings. He made 56 off 98 balls which included four fours and a six.
