Agriculture industry records growth of 1.15pc, meeting told

ISLAMABAD: Agriculture industry has shown a growth of 1.15% in the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25 in spite of negative growth of -5.93% in crops, a meeting was told here on Monday.

The National Accounts Committee (NAC) meeting chaired by by the secretary Ministry of Planning and Special Initiatives.

The meeting approved the Q1 estimates of FY 2024-25. It also approved the quarterization methodology and estimates of expenditure side of the economy.

The PBS has compiled quarterly estimates of expenditure side of economy since 2015-16 onwards.

According to it, the economy has posted a growth of 0.92% in Q1 of FY 2024-25 as compared to same period last year.

However, the industry has shown a negative growth of -1.03% during Q1 of FY 2024-25.

On the other hand, the services industry has depicted a growth of 1.43% in Q1 of FY 2024-25.
