PM lauds AKF’s role in health, education sectors

Launches Manual of Clinical Practice Guidelines developed by AKU in Karachi.

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday lauded the role of Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in the development of health and education sectors in Pakistan. 

The prime minister was speaking as chief guest at the launching ceremony of the Aga Khan University Manual of Clinical Practice Guidelines at the AKU.

He said that these guidelines manually be written written by the AKU in the context of Pakistan is a bright chapter in the reforms of health sector in the country. Developed after research on clinical practice, these manuals will play an important role in aligning Pakistan’s health sector with global standards, he added.

 The prime minister said that the AKU was also providing consultancy in preparing the design for the Jinnah Medical Complex which will be established in Islamabad and would be one of its kind meeting international standards.

Speaking on the occasion, AKU President Aga Khan University Dr. Salman Shahabuddin spoke about the services of the university in the field of medicine.

Dean of Aga Khan Medical College and Editor-in-Chief of the Clinical Manual Dr. Adil Haider told the participants that it was the first book of guidelines related to the health sector in the entire region.
