MANCHESTER: As many as eight officials of Greater Manchester Police have been suspended for racial discrimination while duty of one official has been limited.
According to media reports, the Independent Office for Police Conduct took the action against the police officers over a recent incident that led to public outcry and protest by local community.
However, the Independent Office for Police Conduct did not elaborate any further and said that there were serious concerns about the conduct of the officers following receipt of public complaints.
A few days ago, a video showing police beating a man at the airport of Manchester went viral leading to public protests.
It was reported that the man had developed a cyst in his brain after being kicked by the police in the head.
