Ambassador says growing inequality and reverse the alarming trend of poverty resurgence a matter of concern.

NEW YORK: Pakistan has sought urgent steps to contain the rising trend of poverty and inequality in the world that were badly impacting nations.

The issue was highlighted by Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to United Nations Ambassador Usman Jadoon during the general debate at Financing for Development Forum (FFD) held at the UN headquarters in New York.

He said Pakistan was fully commitment to actively participate in the preparatory process for the fourth international conference on financing for development.

“Pakistan aims to ensure that the conference results in a financing for development architecture that is more equitable and responsive to the needs of developing countries,” he added.
