GWADAR: A group of people staged a sit-in on the coastal highway in Gwadar early on Friday morning and blocked the busy artery.
Ad a result, hundreds of vehicles in local and inter-provincial roads remained stuck abd there were gridlocks.
The protest has been arranged by Haq Do Tehreek. The protesters told media that there main demand was for the government to allow free movement of goods at the border for uninterrupted trade with Iran
The protesters also demanded that the government should consult the MPA of their area in making transfers and postings in different departments. It may be noted that the MPA is the head of the Haq Do Tehreek.
The head of the Tehreek was earlier associated with the Jamaat Islami party. He has arranged some large protest gatherings in Gwadar in recent years.
